So, there was this post where the guy said “If you don’t make a move, someone else will.” that hit pretty close to home! https://www.reddit.com/r/dating_advice/comments/hbpspj/if_you_dont_make_a_move_someone_else_will/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
So I’ve decided to make a post on it sharing my story since it’s kinda long to comment
Here we go
So, me and my teacher were having a casual conversation one day, and then he happened to ask “Do you like anyone?”. So I mentioned that there was this girl that I began liking and getting warm with recently in my club at the time, and then he said “If you don’t make a move, someone else will” in those exact words as well.
After then, I began trying my best getting closer to this sorta-friend and, I got pretty close and started making some moves! Until one day, she started being more open about another guy she liked; he is tall, handsome, and plays baseball! While here I am lookin’ average, kinda geeky, and eh. I did make a move before the other guy but, I lost basically everything after that (this was also around the time COVID was starting to affect life as well).
However, even though I had to walk miles on rusty nails at the time I made a move, turns out, I’ve learned a lot about valuing social situations and being comfy with myself a LOT more.
Hell, the crap I had to go through at the time was only basically a week or two long while the changes are permanent.
Guys, I think that saying doesn’t mean you will get the results better but, it’s about the experience you will get from that decision. Dating cannot happen if you’re waiting on a girl for weeks or months, that’s lame as hell simping! You would need get out there and try as much as you can, and even if you fail hey, you’ve got someone new and cool to talk to at least!
Today, I’m still honestly pretty damn single, and have a lot more to learn but, I’ve found it much easier to talk and make friends with what I’ve learned! Sure, that girl is with mr.macho baseball man now but, it doesn’t matter. She’s happy, he’s happy, and I’m happy; that’s all that matters. I’m searching far and wide still but, in the meantime, it’s best to try and enjoy yourself. That’s my experience in a nutshell!
Also, thank you to that cool math teacher!
