Maybe it’s the divorce or the quarantine, but I’ve been writing a lot lately. Just thought I’d post it somewhere.
It’s amazing how many emotions I can cycle through in a day, in a moment. I don’t know what to feel or what to do or even what to write. I don’t know what I want from love. Some days I want big passionate romantic love. I want someone who sees me from across the room and just knows. Someone whose soul feels like a piece of mine. I want to stay up all night talking – forgetting what time it is and what responsibilities wait for us in the morning. I want to get caught in the rain, to go skinny dipping, to fuck in the car. I want screaming matches and makeup sex. I want someone to show me off; to just be wanted so passionately and emphatically. But I also want friendship. Someone who has seen the depths of my soul, who isn’t afraid to follow me into the darkest parts of myself. I want rainy day snuggles and pancake batter fights. Someone who can see me doing the most mundane thing and think “God, I’m lucky.” I want someone who can love as relentlessly and recklessly as I do. Someone who can look at all of my cracks and broken pieces without fear. Someone who makes me feel safe and like everything’s okay. I don’t want to take things slowly. I want to fall passionately and profoundly in love. I’m not afraid to get hurt. I’m afraid of missing my chance.
