So my partner (M22) and I (F20) are going to be FINALLY seeing each other for the first time after way too long, both as best friends and lovers. We have anywhere between a 1-3 month wait, depending on the Govt's border decisions. I cannot for the life of me handle my nerves, no matter how much we talk to each other about it, or try the "no big deal" approach, etc. It's honestly terrifying (in a good way ofc). We always knew we were going to end up meeting, but it feels different now that it's actually real and happening. Does anyone have any advice on calming nerves or how to mentally prepare for something like this? Realistically speaking, emotions are super illogical so I don't think there will be, but any people who started out long distance and met their partner irl for the first time, how did you handle it? Any tips on physical and emotional preparation?
