Leaving guys on read?

I’m just wondering how guys feel when you leave them on read?

I’ve been talking to a guy for a solid 2 months now and we’ve been on 2 walks/dates so far. The issue is when we text we use Snapchat. Now snapchat isn’t the real issue, it’s that after talking about stuff (our day, etc) for awhile he will begin just sending picture of his face with nothing else.

Usually when this happens I’ll start a new conversation with him but I’m tired of initiating that. Is it rude to leave these “texts” on read? Some of my friends suggested against leaving him on read as guys find it a “turn off”.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
