As the title says, I’m having a hard time with dating apps, as I live together with my friend and we are both using them. Naturally, we come across the same people within the area, and it happens that we match with the same people.
I found myself completely losing interest if I find out that my friend matched with the guy I am talking to. It has also happened that a guy I’ve been talking stopped texting back the day he got a match with her, and ended up planning a date with her on the same weekend he initially asked me out. I’m finding it really hard to accept it and I started thinking of giving up dating apps entirely while we continue to live together.
I have tried talking about it, but it turns into a pretty awkward conversation. For the context, I went out with a previous date of hers (I did not know how the guy looks like, so I did not make the connection to who he is, they went on one date only and I have met him months after they stopped having any type of contact). She was okay with the situation at that time, but every time it is brought up, it gets awkward.
How can I handle this without it taking a toll on me and my friendship?
