I (23F) met this guy (27M) on a dating app and we’ve been talking for about 3 months. One of the months in which he ghosted me because he was going through something mentally, but we talked it out and reconnected.
The third time we ever hung out he asked me for a favor and asked if he could borrow like $10 or $15 dollars. It’s a small amount but I felt some type of way about it and thought of it as a red flag that he would even ask me. He has no money whatsoever, so I gave him, and that was that.
Not long after he asked me again to borrow like $5. I gave it but I told him that it makes me feel some type of way that he asks and to not ask me and he told me he wouldn’t ask again.
Lo and behold he asked me several times after for a couple bucks here and there and I kind of went off on him. Afterwards i felt like i was a bit over dramatic and apologized.
He recently brought up the fact that he doesnt understand why I cant give him and why i get upset over $5. And that if the rolls were reversed he would have no problem giving me money if i asked. I told him okay, but I would also never ask you for money, and that its a respect thing.
I also pay for our food when we get and have no problem paying for him. It just gets me tight when he asks for money.
Am i being over dramatic? Is this a red flag?
