Hey guys, I’m gonna keep this short and simple. I really feel lost now. My girlfriend (20) and I have been dating for a year and a half now. We met back in our college, during the Covid19 qauarantine, our college continued everything online and thank God it was already during our final semester. Before I go on further, our college is at different states from my our hometown. We can go on a date every weekend or weekdays since her parents only visit her once a month. Now that we have finished with our college, the probability of us meeting is getting harder since her parents really restrict her from going out. Well, Asians parents, some might understand how they are. I keep on asking her like once a week when are we gonna meet again yet I don’t get any assurance from her. The only thing I get is “It’s okay, we’ll see. We will meet someday”. Thats all, not even convincing. It shows that how unsure we are about how things gonna be the next few months or perhaps years? Since she said her parents don’t trust anyone outside here.
I just don’t get it. She’s 20, why cant she tell her parents or maybe stood up for herself. Why can’t she make any efforts to at least tell her mom to trust her. I know she loves me but what’s the point of being on a distance? When she lives 15 kilometers (or less) from my place. Feels so close yet so far. We can’t call, or text for long period of time because of the same reason – strict parents. I feel lost, today marks the 4th months of us not seeing each other. I am not being clingy but now I just don’t feel like we are dating. I miss going on date and just seeing her in person. I thought of giving her a period of 1 month to ask her to make an effort to change this, otherwise I don’t know if I am able to stay in this very uncertainty. What should I do…
