Need feedback on a (kind of) dating app I’m making

As a part of my final year project I'm making an app that shows you a list of people around you with similar interests and hobbies.

I've already built a prototype that is good enough for the submission. To decide whether or not to build a full fledge app, I need your opinion.

Short Description: You sign up, tell the app your interests and it shows you a list of people with similar interests.

It would be great if you can answer the following questions.

Do you like the idea? If yes, would you go out of the way to download the app and use it? If yes, how often would you use it?
