Not at all sure why I'm posting this and may end up deleting it later. But I'll start with a little back story about my dating life. I grew up as one of the chubby, shy, self conscious kids who didnt venture out of his safe zone. So as you can imagine I didnt date in highschool or much less break out of my shell till senior year in college. Nor really make many or any friends along the way. Kind of always been viewed as that loner noone really wants to talk to and goes out of his way to separate himself. Since college I've grown tremendously but my dating life really hasnt. My senior year I started hooking up with chicks I wasnt attracted to because something was better than nothing. That continued on till I met my first and only real girlfriend. We met at a terrible time in her life because she was literally relocating to the opposite side of the country but we bonded so quickly to the point that when she moved (3 months after we met) she was trying to convince me we should live together where she moved to. Her being my first and only relationship and everything I had no clue what I was doing or what I was feeling and ended up hurting her and destroying pretty much my only chance at a happy ending(if ya cant tell theres some regret there). After her I've pretty much struck out repeatedly(consistently ghosted after like 4 dates or so). I have a ton of bad habits such as idolizing girls I find attractive because in my mind I'm still that chubby kid from highschool (have since dropped 60 some lbs), or being the overly nice guy. Or I'll talk to someone and slowly lose interest in them because I probably only started talking to them because I'm bored and lonely. I admit I could be doing things to help myself such as dressing more fashionably (I dont understand fashion and what looks attractive) or even trying to meet new women out in public places (still shy/socially awkward so I never take the risk of talking to women at bars. Heavily rely on social dating apps which have very limited success rates obviously). Recently I've had a birthday which has made me feel old for my demographic area (I'm in my late 20s in a college dominated town). I have always been that type of person to believe in "when one door closes another will open" but I havent seriously really even talked to anyone in months (march) and because of this pretty much lost all interest in women on these dating apps. And without dating lifes felt really empty like what's sorta the point in all this if your just going through the motions alone. I've even actually started applying for jobs in new cities across the country thinking starting fresh might help because I'm convince that theres really no hope where I currently live. Not sure what to expect but a little help goes a long way.
