Just need to find a place to rant. So for two months, I have been talking to this 37 year-old woman from OKupid (I left shortly after we exchange contact info vowing never to do that site again regardless of this will go) who works as a psychiatrist at a hospital. Due to the pandemic and lockdown, we did videochats weekly that involved activities like Scrabble online, working out via Zoom, and watching a movie together via Zoom. She told me she enjoyed spending time with me and also bought some birthday sign to show over Zoom chat because it was my birthday.
Saturday we finally met and took a walk in a park. Things went as usual and she noted about still meeting up outdoor as she still wasn't comfortable with meeting at indoor places. Next day afterwards, she sends me a text saying how "we lack chemistry and wishes me the best." Only thing I noticed out of the norm was that last week she texted a bit less so who knows maybe started talking to a new guy.
Because this is online dating and people are extremely fickle, I was always prepared for this no matter how well a date went or any future plans they make on a date. Honestly, it's fucked up and makes me have trust issues. Only goes to show how detrimental online dating to be one's mental health. Moreover, it the fickle aspect only encourages one stand night stands.
