Opposite of FWB

I (22F) have been going on dates with this incredible guy (25M) for about 9 months now. Things have been progressing a little slowly but I’ve been doing what I can to be patient. We are at a point now where things seem to be moving in the right direction. We have been long distance since COVID hit and are talking consistently. He visited me for a weekend and I’ll be visiting him and his family soon. I had a realization that our current dynamic is currently the opposite of FWB. He treats me like his girlfriend and has expressed that he isn’t seeing anyone else, but we rarely have sex. When I asked him about what he saw between us, he explained has no interest in defining anything. I’ve never been in this situation and want to know if anyone else has experienced this. If yes, what was the outcome?
