People who’ve sent nudes prior to the first date: Why did you do it and did it render success?

No judgement here by any means, but for those out there who've sent nudes to someone prior to meeting them (with their consent, to be clear…)

• Why did you do it?
• Did it lead to a date?
• If so, do you think it helped your efforts, and if not, do you think it hurt them?

From my personal experience:

• I thought it would make my match more interested in me and prevent them from ghosting
• Only once, and almost in others. It never was the reason behind there not being first a date, though.
• It probably helped in that one instance, but in retrospect, I should have seen it as a red flag. For the instances it didn't lead to a date, I think sending nudes prior to meeting someone is both a thrill when both people enjoy them, but then the connection's potential fizzles out just as quickly because you jumped the shark.
