Pro-tip: If you’re asking for advice, be open to the idea that you’re the flawed one

Lots of questions in here are "I'm great, what's wrong with everyone else?"

My romantic life did a complete 180 when I took on the philosophy "don't wait for the perfect one, become the perfect one."

Most people I know just go about their lives waiting for someone perfect for them to fall for them. If you work on yourself and build yourself into the kind of person your ideal partner will actually fall for, then it'll happen eventually.

It doesn't matter how intelligent, funny, personable, skilled, etc. you think you are. There's always going to be someone better at you than a particular trait, but you know what very few people have? Very few people have the mental, emotional and physical package. If you want to stand out, work on turning yourself into the most ideal version of yourself you can.

Otherwise, just accept that you're going to run into a lot of mediocrity because that's what you're resigning yourself to. If you don't try harder than the average person, why should you deserve anything besides average?
