He made time for me. He planned future dates with me. He wanted me to meet his friends and family. He told them about me. He asked me what I want in a partner.
But after some time…
He was inconsistent. I was ignored for hours only to have him reply with extremely dry texts. He never asked me how my days were anymore. He stopped complimenting me. He would start a conversation and then continue with it days later. He would leave me on read. The effort was totally gone, and I was the only one trying.
After bringing it up once and him giving me an excuse, I finally had enough. I removed him from my social media, but kept his phone number. Yesterday, he texted me asking if he was blocked. I said yes and explained to him that his bare minimum effort wasn’t for me, and that I shouldn’t feel like a bother to a guy who tells me he’s interested. I felt like an option. My gut told me to walk away, so I did.
He responded to my text, but he was vague and I was still left confused on where he stood. He didn’t address one thing in my text about how his actions were making me feel shitty. Not one thing. It was another excuse. I always felt in the dark about his feelings and intentions.
I sent a final text back and he never replied. That’s okay. I won’t take it personal. I’m so proud of myself for sticking to my boundaries and not letting him continue to hit me up when it was convenient for him. I told him every single thing that was bothering me. I’m glad I got it all off my chest.
People make time for who they want to talk to.
