Going on first dates can be hard. One can be anxious or insecure. You are really putting yourself out there. We all are. When someone tells you straight-up but politely they are putting themselves in an awkward position. They are respecting you by being honest with you.
Asking questions to try and prove you are right for them, cursing them out, or continuously bothering them will not change their mind. Accept the rejection and move on.
caveat: I understand ghosting and breaking up are different situations. I am mostly implying people that reject first dates or shortly after first dates.
