So 26y/o guy, currently in the very beginning of a dating/relationship with a 27y/o girl. It's gone great so far and I really feel we have a connection.
I have made it clear to her that I prefer to wait a little bit before sex. I'm still happy to be physically intimate, but I find it difficult to really develop a sexual relationship without that emotional connection. It's also really important to me that she feels safe and comfortable with me before we do anything else, and that she absolutely knows my intentions and we're both sure of what we want this to be.
She's been very cool about it. In her words 'consent is cool'. I've communicated it to her quite clearly and my own reasons and she seems very much alright about it, which is a real relief because I've not always got that reaction.
I want to wait until it just all feels right and I'm there in my head. But I also really like her and I just want to make sure I don't leave it too long. So for the girls on here, if it was you in this situation (or if you've been in this situation before) how long would you be happy to give it?
