58M here, seems to me that there are lots of OLD folks who chat online at length (days, weeks,…) before setting up a first date. Am I the only guy here who immediately ‘cuts to the chase’ (a few introductory back and forth messages) and says “Let’s get together for a drink”? Seems to me that spending lots of time getting to know someone online (messaging/chatting) prior to meeting in person and confirming there’s physical attraction/chemistry (people have become experts at showing their best side in pictures) might more times than not eventually lead to disappointment. Maybe I’m being too superficial here but I’m curious to hear what other Redditers think…
