There has been a recent uptick of advertising posts in multiple forms, from websites to individuals inviting DMs. Several have also claimed that since money was not in the equation, it does not count for advertising.
If you want to help people, then help people. If you want to drum up services for money, or traffic for your website, or anything similar, this is not the subreddit to do so.
We have no way to perform quality checks or audits to determine whether said services or websites are on the level, or have any malignant software code, or worse, whether the person's intentions are good or bad.
To keep everything safe and level, we have a blanket, universal ban on such things, whether it be through DM offers or website, or any compensation or lack thereof of any type.
