Hello all, I been on tender the first time in 8 months of my break-up. The first damn person I met on this app seems to have everything I want. Crazy right? But I have had my fair share of relationship horror stories, that I value though, since they taught me to be the wise person I am today. I’ve also done crucial amount of work in therapy, and decided to go back on a weekly basis because my rose colored glasses are intoxicating when I date. This time, I been way more wise actually, as I’m also 28 and at the best place, emotionally and mentally.
I been on two dates. Went to his home first date, because he really didn’t seem like he wanted one thing, since I told him that. We had video chat, sat in my car, texted back and fourth for weeks, no weird stuff no matter how late the calls or texts were lol. Well, I was wrong though, felt defeated, but I explained why I was upset with myself, but decided to let down my walls and just have fun next time I went to his house.
The red flag I caught now, is that every time I spend the night and have plans to see my family, he wants me to stay. I’m pretty sure he just wants me to stay the whole weekend or something. I was dumbass, and mentioned I planned to have a walk in a park with a friend (since he asked if I could just wait to see my family next weekend) and he had the audacity to ask me if that friend was a date. He said he valued honesty (it’s very important to him since he was cheated on in a 3 yr relationship that only ended 3 months ago), so I said yes, explained how I met him (it wasn’t even on tender) and told him since I have a history just jumping into 1 relationship to the next, I really want to take my time to meet various people so I can make sure my next partner will have potential for marriage, as I’m hitting 30 and I want kids. He did not take this well, claimed he was going to delete his app, because he likes me and doesn’t want to see other people when he really likes someone.
I feel the same, but the fact that we only knew each other for a month, only 2 dates, and he JUST got out of a toxic relationship, I think it’s wise to keep my options open. I also want to do this for me, because if I date just him, I’m literally repeating the behavior I have had the last decade. However, I don’t want to loose him because he’s everything I want so far, and I’m scared to have to narrow down between two good people in the end. That will just feel so weird for me, so idk what the fuck to do.
