I (29M) have been talking to a girl (26F) I met on a dating app for 2 weeks. Things started out great; we texted heavily for a few days, eventually switched to Instagram messenger, had a Zoom date, and then exchanged numbers for texting.
Much to my surprise and delight, she has been the one to do a lot of the escalation. She is not afraid to initiate conversation, she sent me a full body pic of her in the dress she would have worn if we were going on a real date, and she offered me her phone number as soon as the video date was over. Sounds like all good things, right?
The problem I am having is she doesn't seems to show much interest in me when we text. I don't mind steering the conversation from topic to topic, but our exchanges have started to feel like interviews. I ask something about her, she gives an answer, and leaves me to try come up with ways to keep it going. She never asks "how about you?" or any other questions that would lead to her learning about me. I don't consider myself self-centered at all, but it's getting frustrating having to hold a conversation when the other party doesn't seem to have any interest having it go two ways.
If it seemed like she was doing a fadeaway, I'd chalk it up to poor chemistry and go on my way. But the fact that on the surface she keeps escalating has me confused and frustrated.
Any and all input into possible explanations for what's going on is appreciated.
