Should I be happy with what I’ve got or continue to chase that butterfly, head-over-heels in love feeling?

So I'm almost 30 but I got a late start to dating. I moved to a new city a couple years ago, got into better shape and made a serious attempt at getting out there and using dating apps, etc.

Anyways, about 2 years ago I met a girl through some mutual friends and she actually made the first move in asking me out. After our first date I was very into this girl, I had never really felt this before other than some crushes I've had in the past, but it was never for a girl who was actually interested in me back. It was a great feeling.

We went on a few dates and I continued to fall for her, but I think I got a bit ahead of myself. I think I kinda scared her away because of my persistence in asking her to hang out, etc. We went on like 4 or 5 dates and never really got past a small peck on the lips. I was a virgin, I had basically no experience dating, and ultimately I think my inexperience was showing and she ghosted me.

Fast forward a few months and I got back into the dating apps, went on several dates, had one night stands, etc. I finally met a girl through a dating app that I really liked. I could see myself being with her, but I didn't really have the same head-over-heels feeling and butterflies that I did for the last girl. We dated for about 5 or 6 months until she told me she loved me and I couldn't say it back.

Now I'm dating someone considerably younger than me (24) and it's a similar story. I like her a lot, but I'm just not head-over-heels in love. We dated for about 3 months before the pandemic and we've been long-distance since March when she went back to her parents to ride out the pandemic. Now it looks like she won't be back in the city until next year and we'll be long-distance until then.

I'm not excited about being in a long-distance relationship. We basically just have a video call twice a week and watch some netflix together. She does plan to come to the city and visit when things get better, but obviously that won't be the same as if she was still living here.

So I guess I'm just conflicted and looking for any advice you may have.
