A few months ago I (20m) got out of a toxic relationship and rejected in favor of my friend. So I have some problems with trust and self-esteem. During quarantine, I made friends with a girl (19f) from my university department. We connected pretty quickly and have been chatting on Discord and texting a lot for several weeks. We have discussed our previous relationships and she's been in toxic but short relationships as well. She made it clear we might have a relationship irl. However, she told me that she's recently been texting a lot with another guy and it's going well. At first I told her I wanted her to stop texting with him until we meet, and she agreed, but after a few considerations I said that I allow her to do anything she wants, and if she has a relationship before we get to meet that's ok with me. It seems she was happy to hear that.
My question is: have I made the right decision and should I have hopes for a relationship with her?
