F (18) redditor asking for some advice. My friend F (18) has been dating her boyfriend (M19) since second semester of senior year (high school) when college came around, he had decided to go to a school a state away from where we live, and she and I went to our big state university two hours from our hometown.
Anyways she met this guy at university, and they began a relationship from beginning of October to middle of January. Ultimately she decided to break up with this guy bc she wanted to be fully “dedicated/with” her original boyfriend.
I know that people are going to do what they want, and ultimately they make their own decisions, but I told her the other day she should tell her boyfriend about her short affair in college. I honestly feel bad and awkward whenever I see her with her boyfriend now, because he never found out about her other relationship. When I told her this, she said it was a thing of the past and that she just wants to focus on her relationship now.
Was my opinion on this whole situation wrong though?I really think she should tell her boyfriend bc she was FULLY dating this other guy at college, like boyfriend girlfriend. If I were her boyfriend, I would have wanted to know if this was going on tbh. What is your opinion on this situation?
I want to receive more input on this to see if I’m in the wrong for thinking she should fess up to her man. I obviously won’t intervene and stay in my lane, but something about this whole situation has me feeling weird.
TLDR; should my friend confess to cheating?
