Single parents, are you worried your new partner might not love your kid (from previous partner) as much as you would like them, if not as their own?

Also, how do you plan to approach a relationship with the kid of your potential new partner (living with them, or not)? Do you think you’ll be able to love their kid sufficiently, to avoid any issues of unfairness or conflict etc? I know it will take time, what’s the best way to approach these feelings and develop a strategy when considering getting together with other single parents? Thanks.

I won't have the custody of my kid, but I hope to video chat with them regularly, and visit in person few times a year (as they live in a different country)
