Stop putting dates on such a high pedestal

When you go on a date, treat that day like any other day. Don’t put that day on a higher pedestal than any other day because if it doesn’t go as planned, you’ll just be disappointed.

I’ve learned this after being canceled the day of the date and having the rest of the day being ruined. I mean yes it still stings that someone decided to cancel last minute but you have to go about the day as if that was just an appointment in your day that was cancelled. The rest of your day is NOT ruined. Them canceling is not a reflection of you. If it was a coffee or some date involving with food, you can still grab food on your own. Have a date with yourself and forget about them.

If things turned out well, your date showed up, and you had a great time, that’s amazing.

Regardless, my cardinal rule is treat days that you have a date like any other day. If something didn’t turn out the way you wanted, no sweat. I’d things turned out better than you expected, amazing. Don’t set high expectations.
