Taking rejection personally

I started working at this new place some months ago. Me liking her was instant, but over time it has grown into an obsession. Some days all my mind can seem to focus on is her. Simply hearing her voice in the background fills me with an unexplainable happiness. The thought of holding her hand and keeping her close… I guess it’s in moments like these that words fall short, how could one even describe what it is I am feeling.

She is everything that I look for in a woman. An ideal for all women to strive towards. She is smart, organized, calm, but most of all she is a genuiley good person, if there is something I have learnt during these last few months it’s that, and I don’t think there is anything more valuable. I only ever thought that I would have the luxury of meeting such a person in my mind, but there she is right in front of me.

For months I wanted to ask her out but I just couldn’t. As long as I did not ask her out or fuck it up I could marvel in the fantasy of being with her. I was a coward, I always have been, until today when I finally decided to ask her out. She shut me down, with no explanation as to why, and now it feels like I have lost the love of my life… only to find out that I never had her to begin with. I just spent the entire day crying in front of the computer, getting no work done.

I always take rejection extremely personally. I have no idea why she said no and I must have misinterpreted our relationship completely. But it doesn’t matter, because she does not want me anyway. Despite the sorrow I feel now I don’t regret asking, now I can move on and start looking for another woman, but it will take time getting over her, and I don’t think I will ever stop thinking about how our life could have been together.
