I’ve been texting this guy I’m keen on, but for a variety of reasons I know we won’t end up together.
With that knowledge, I can speak what’s truly on mind even though we’re not dating. When I’m thinking of him, I can tell him so without fearing that I come off as clingy/desperate. I’m also no longer that concerned over when he will reply/if he will reply, because nothing will be changing regardless.
It’s simultaneously freeing and heartbreaking. I’m at peace because I’ve let go of all expectations, but I’m also sad because I truly liked him, and I’m wondering if anyone else is/has been in the same boat as me.
