Hi!
The past couple of days I've been debating on using dating apps to maybe try and find that special someone. However I have never used a dating app before and I'm not sure of how well that would work for someone like me. I'm a 23 year old guy but I'm not very social, I don't like going out to party and drink all night. I spend a lot of my time playing videogames with friends or hanging out with them but of course I make a lot of time for my relationship whenever I have one.
One reason why I'm thinking about using a dating app is because since graduating and starting my job I don't meet a lot of new people. All of the past people I met were either through school or people that were braver than me and started talking to me first during my commute to school.
From the looks of it most people on these dating apps are more outgoing and sociable and don't seem to be what I'm looking for in a person. I realize that this is a very broad generalization but I know next to nothing about dating apps.
We all know the gamer stereotype and it's not someone you necessarily see using dating apps. I'm more looking for a person that shares most of my interests and is just as passionate about videogames as I am. I'm just not sure if this is a realistic thing to want and find on these dating apps.
I'm also not looking for flings or hookups and I'm looking for something long term which also seems to be the opposite of what these dating apps provide at first glance. Most of the things I heard about Tinder for example is just people looking for some quick action.
Any advice is appreciated. Maybe some recommendations of which dating apps I could use?
Thanks!
