Tl;dr I was rejected by someone who seemed to be the almost perfect person for me.

We met in school and have recently reconnected via social media. Surprisingly, we still live in the same area and decided to meet at a local park to talk and hangout. I had assumed that this was a date of sorts, but he did not think the same. I called him the next day, telling him of my interest in him, and was told he did not feel the same. Is there a way to find someone who ticks the boxes yet isn’t him?
