I (20F) have had two “long-term” boyfriends. First one for a year, second one for two years. Both of those guys treated me like garbage. They never took me on dates (without me begging, and without it costing them an arm and a leg), they never called me pretty more than once or twice, they never made plans. They both would’ve rather stayed inside and played league of legends all day than see me. Everything has always been so one-sided! Because of those things, I never thought romance existed like it does in the movies. I’m not trying to be cheesy or anything, but I’ve recently met someone who makes me feel like I’m someone worth something. He calls me pretty, he asks me to hangout, he offers to pay, he makes really exciting outdoorsy plans for us, etc. Our friends would say he “simps” for me because he mostly jumps to my defense when I’m being roasted (he has a good balance of sarcasm and flattery). He is also incredibly physically affectionate. Likes to hold my hand, put his arms around me, etc. I am feeling like this is tooooo good to be true. And I never believed the people who said that there is someone out there who would value me and treat me right. I was proven so wrong this week, and I just had to share.
