Weirded out how on dating apps, most women who "like" my profile are older and I don’t get a lot of matches from women around my own age

I am in my mid-30s, and I often get told that I actually look a few years younger than my actual age. I dress modern, groom on trend, and definitely do a way better job than my own peers (and honestly, some people in their 20s…) with keeping up with the times in terms of culture. Additionally, I'm very fit and healthy, so that helps.

Lately, I can't help but observe that most women who "like" my profile on dating apps are older than me by at least 5 years. I don't mean to sound rude or superficial, but it might not be as perplexing if they themselves were more modern looking with their styles and interests as well. Instead, they not only are older than me, but they look and act even older than their age says, and it feels like I'm being pursued by a bunch of suburban aunties. Sometimes I've spoken to them, and I feel like if I went on a date with them, it'd be like going out on a date with a older co-worker.

What I want to know is why — as a visibly fashionable guy who still is young and could pass as 5 years younger than my actual age — do I rarely get pursued by women around my own age who I actually can relate to?

Again, I don't want this to sound shallow, but I think in dating, we all expect to meet a partner who reflects ourselves. Since dating apps are the "best" way for me to meet women, I feel like I'm a guy who is in a limbo world on them of being overlooked by the women that technically are more relatable and look more like me, and being pursued by older women I really know aren't the right fit for me.
