My (21F) ex (20M) and I broke up back in January and had a conversation a few days ago about how the future will look for us. At certain points in the conversation he said 1. “I’ve scouted other girls and there is absolutely no one else like you” 2. “I’ve had a million opportunities to f*ck other girls but have stayed completely faithful to you when I have zero obligation to”
I’m just confused. Are these statements supposed to be compliments? They honestly just made me feel shittier. The thought of him looking around makes me nauseous. We dated for 4 years and I’ve known him since I was 11. At the end of the conversation we determined that we’ll do our own thing and what’s meant to be will be. But those statements have been messing with my head, and I can’t stop thinking about now that we kinda accepted going out separate ways, he’s going to take up the “millions of opportunities” he’s had.
That do guys mean when they say some things like this?
