Hi! New to reddit, but figured this would be a great forum to get some creative advice about this topic! After 5 years of dating, my bf (24) and I (24F) are finally moving in together! We’ve done long distance for the past 2 years, while attending different professional schools, and prior to that went to the same college but never lived together. As much as I hated long distance, the perk was that it was easy to always find something entertaining to do when we were just seeing each other a few weekends out of every month. I’m so excited to finally be living together, but am just a little worried we will fall into a bit of a boring routine. So in an effort to avoid that and to get some ideas to keep things exciting, I would like to hear about what you all did on your favorite date ever?
I’ll start…My favorite date ever started with a trip to JoAnns fabrics. We looked all around the fabric section and then each picked out 2 different fabrics to make each other a blanket with. It was kind of hard to do, but we tried to keep the fabrics we got a secret from each other. Like when I had decided on 2 fabrics, he went to look around towards the back of the store and then we switched off. My bf is pretty tall and I hate blankets that are too short so I ended up going with about 2.5 yards of each fabric. Then when we got back to my apartment we unveiled the fabrics we had chosen for each other, and spent hours making knot tie blankets or whatever they are called..all while drinking wine, eating takeout, and watching the office. In the end we traded blankets. The blanket he made me is seriously the cutest, softest, and largest blanket I have ever owned. I sleep with it every night and highly recommend this date idea to any couple, but especially long distance couples!
