It cannot be denied that a lot of relationships—be it a fling or something serious—developed at this point in time. Most of these relationships probably happened because of boredom (how lucky are you if not); because we have nothing to do at home during this worldwide lockdown.
We seek the feeling to counter our sadness, to turn isolation into a connection. I, myself, ended up flirting even if I am not yet ready to commit. I simply wanted to feel happy and be cared for during this quarantine. And honestly, in the midst of this chaotic situation we are all in, it made me sane. But something also keeps me up at night.
Once normalcy resumes, that we are preoccupied again of the things we were worried about before (work, studies, family problems), what will be left of us? Of this relationship that blossomed in a time of uncertainty? Will you still talk to me? Will you still like me? Or will you just suddenly leave me because you don’t feel lonely anymore? Because everything is back to normal once again? That we’re unsure of. I’m really happy for those who found something worthwhile; something that’s going to last even if everything is indefinite at the moment.
