This might be a semi long post, but i’m just in need for some advice.
To start off, let’s call this girl Zoe. Zoe (18FM) and i (18M) met at a restaurant where we both worked in. Around november, she ended up writing down her number and giving it to me. Now, from November until about march, i was in a rough place at the time with my grandmas death and didn’t feel comfortable or right to start anything with her. So, she gave me her number, but we rarely ever talked between those few months, besides streaks on snap chat.
Starting in March, we began chatting and started iff very slow. She’s a bit of a shy person and we both didn’t really know what we wanted. Casual conversation about getting to know each other and what not.
However, probably about April, i made a bit of a flirty joke with her and texted her “i guess you just like guys with curly hair and developed forearms.” At the time i had long hair and so i made a little joke. She replied saying “i like you. No questions about that.” So with that response we started turning it a bit more than casual. We started texting a lot more and would send goodnight/good morning texts etc. I then took the initiative to ask her on a date.
Unfortunately for both of us, coronavirus just started really kicking in once we started talking and so the date had to be put on hold. Since then, we’ve been talking everyday. Her parents finally allowed her to go back to work around late May. So, i was hoping we’d e able to hang out hopefully soon. Her parents still haven’t allowed her to hang out and she’s only allowed to go to work and drive through a for food and stuff and grocery shopping of course. We still have not facetimed also, because as i said, she’s a very shy person and she’s especially camera shy. She rarely facetimes anyone and not even her step sister who she’s best friends with.
We’ve still been talking everyday since and she compliments me and i also do the same. I plan to ask her out in person to be my girlfriend once we hang. Here’s the problem though. I honestly do not know when that time will come. My question is should i even ask what her feelings are for me exactly? She’s said ir once, but since we’ve been texting so much, i’m worried it’s going to get stale and the attraction will ware off. Should i ask what exactly are we yet? The reason i’m asking is because i’m honestly not quite sure. I’ve expressed to her that i like her as well, but i obviously haven’t asked her out because she said “asking out in person would make me feel special.” Do i have this “exclusivity” talk? I guess it’s just insecurity from the fact the “i like you” might not be the same. This is purely my own insecurity. Our texting hasn’t decreased and our conversations are still as fun and exciting as they were when we first started talking.
TLDR; we’ve talked for around 3.5 months and i’m wondering if or when i should ask what her feelings are for me.
