Why can I get along great with women older than me, but women my age hate me?

I am a 26 year old straight guy and ever since middle/high school I cannot be around girls my age without things turning hostile. The Women in their 30s and older that I know get along great with me. They love my sense of humor, are happy to be around me and genuinely seem to enjoy my company. On the other side though women in my age group 20-30 can’t stand being around me. It’s not like I’m flirting with them or asking them out either. I am just as friendly and bubbly as I am with the older ladies. I do my best to put my inner energy out to at least others happy as best I can and that seems to work well with older women. But for the live of me I can’t figure out why the same funny fun personality causes not just refusal of interaction but actual hostility. Could my jokes just be coming off as flirty? Because it’s annoyingly as hell to not even be able to get to talk to a girl I could date or even chat with but am loved by women older than me.
