I (M21) downloaded Tinder last month because I had time on my hands and I discovered that like 80% of the profiles are the same. Just after a few days, I feel like I'm not going to make a connection with anyone. I'm not really interested in a profile that has no text. There's so many profiles that just have a sort of rude tag line and nothing else. And I get that I'm alone on this, but photos with smoking or really drunk are a complete turn off. I get it's going be really to do much considering I don't drink. Also, "420 friendly" is an all encompassing personally trait! Okay, now I'm just kind of ranting.
I've put a bit of work into my profile and tried to create bio that represents who I am. But there so few accounts that actually have a bio with personally.
I should preface this with the fact that dating is not my territory at all. I'd like to think I'm a pleasant person to be around, and I'm fairly good at being social. However, I still have ever gone any like a "date" or even kissed anyone. I'm kind of a loser in this respect, and I hope my inexperienced is too much of a thing to overcome. I'm proud of my academic accomplishments like keeping 4.0 after 66 credit hours, but maybe it has hindered me in some way.
I finished my two-year degree at a community college (it's not Greendale) this month, so I hope I'll try hard to meet girls in person at the new, larger university (assuming it's not online). I don't think Tinder is going to work for me.
