Hi, I don't know why, but I think I suck with women. You know, I'm funny, smart, I have a well paying job that's secure and I'd like to think I'm at least average looking but I just can't managed to get that second date, and first dates are kind of hard for me to get too.
When I'm on the first date, everything goes great and I'm always told that the date was amazing and they can't wait to see me again and when I arrange things they say yes even before thinking about it, then they don't turn up, ever. I think 8/10 I am stood up on the second date and at least half of my first dates have stood me up.
Not to mention, I sound like I'm dating around a lot but getting nowhere, I'm not. Discounting this year for obvious reasons (although I did go on a date in February that led nowhere) in 2019 I went on 1 date in the entire year. 1. It's not like I'm not trying, I'm trying very hard to find a date and because I don't go to trendy places like bars, clubs, etc. I have to meet people online (which ultimately is most likely the problem).
It's come to the point now where if I'm talking to an attractive lady, my only thought it "you'll stand me up too" and this is terrible but it's the norm for me at this point. I've been trying since I was about 20, so that's 4 years of trying with no success, not even a tiny thing for a few months or whatever, literally nothing.
You know, people say 24 is still young, but that's around the age your hair starts thinning, wrinkles become more pronounced, maybe you start getting a belly (of course I'm trying to keep on top of that) so I'm trying to find someone before I'm nasty looking because I'm in my mid-30s and still single.
Any ideas why I suck?
