***Correction: Why is it guys CHASE girls even when we tell them we're not interested but ghost us for the tiniest things?
I've noticed this over the last few years of dating. I've been on quite a few dates (mostly online dating) some guys a few dates with and most just ONE date. I would say within three dates I know if I want to continue seeing someone, if I see there's potential.
I hate ghosting. I think its awful and I try my best not to do this because I hate when it happens to me esp if you like the person. I can usually tell when a guy is interested in me. If it seems like it and I'm not I will kindly tell him (via text) that I don't really see it going anywhere or I see them more like a friend. When a girl says that it doesn't mean you still have a shot (even though some guys think there is)
How come when you tell a guy you're not interested they still text you? It's one thing if you mention hanging out as friends but I've told guys I didn't see us in that way and mentioned nothing about friendship only for them to hit me up months down the road wondering if I'm interested again. Some have pestered me or look at my social media even if they're not following me which I think is kinda creepy but I guess if my acct is public it's free reign.
I guess what I'm saying is if women behaved this way we'd be labeled as a five stage clinger in a heartbeat. Called crazy and they'd never want to have anything to do with us again. It can even be the tiniest thing like questioning why he hasn't called you or asking the where are we question then boom they're gone.
But from my experience, guys don't take a hint…or at the least refuse to. It's like they're a dog with a bone that won't let up until you cave and give them what they want which I'm guessing is sex. Sad but true or some become more enthralled with you because you rejected them so they end up becoming kind of almost obsessive over you but I feel like when this happens they're not really into you, it's just the validation they're seeking. This happened to me with one guy after years of him trying with me I gave him a chance because I thought he was kind and cared about me only to turn around and act like an asshole and treat me like shit. We didnt last long but our last conversation he acted so cocky like he won. That hurt my feelings.
So my question is why don't guys see the similar behavior they do that girls do too? And if they're chasing you despite your resistance is it more ego based, lust based, them liking a challenge? What is it about wanting a girl you can't have?
