In an August, I moved from an urban chaos to a suburban city.
I was a sort of an innocent deer, never dated, never kissed and had terrible self-esteem (no one ever asked me out, I did the asking). It was only the first day at class and I was already being hit on by this reasonably attractive guy and my brain couldn't process it, it was as if my self esteem was so bad I couldn't believe I was getting hit on.
Just after one day of talking and this guy asks me out. We hit it off pretty well. He tells me I'm gorgeous, that I'm his type and that I'm really sweet. I was flattered of course, and my hopes of dating were already miserably low so I was considering it even though I knew in my gut something felt really wrong.
I told him to give me atleast a week and that I'll think about it, but this was when he started showing his true colors.
He told me that he was impatient and to respond before the week ends. He badmouthed the girls in [insert name of city I moved to] calling them garbage, that they only want 6 ft 7 Chads and don't care about how loyal they are (this is why he asked me out so fast cause he thought he'd lose his chance if we spent "too much time together" its been 2 days for fucks sake.) I tried to tell him that it wasn't true and that he wasn't even a bad looking dude like he thought he was but that shit buzzed past him.
The answer was clear now, I said no (for obvious reasons) while apologizing profusely because I felt so so bad, and after a meager two hours later he sends me a snap. A hand with 'I love you' scrawled all over in pen. The reason as to why? He didn't give me a straight answer but it was no doubt a stunt for attention, and it almost worked. He tried to pull the 'I'm depressed' card and tried guilting me saying he wouldn't have done it if I had just said yes.
This. Guy. Had. Issues.
Scared, I blocked him and changed into a different class the next week.
As I made new friends I found out that he was actually a terrible person who pretty much asked out anyone and everyone just to see if anyone sticked. The girls who did end up dating him stayed because they were worried of his mental health so of course that brought my self-esteem down even more. Nowadays I just pity him… as if I let him down for some reason.
But this wasn't the only time a strange guy asked me, this was just the worst one. It's like I'm a freak magnet… but the worst kind.
I guess now I know the only men who like me are psychopaths.
