Woman I’m talking to doesn’t seem over her ex. What do I do?

I [25m] have been friends with an older woman [30f] that I met through other mutual friends about five years ago. Our relationship has progressed to something more than friendship which I am happy about, but I am also nervous because she is recently out of a relationship (they broke up around mid to late last year) that appears to still be lingering with her.

She brings up this ex randomly from time to time, still uses his account for streaming services, and talks to him regularly.

I asked her about him a couple weeks ago and she said that they are just trying to be cordial with one another. I do not know much about what happened throughout the duration of their relationship, but I think they were probably really in love, so moving on may take time. I can respect that, but I must be honest that I am not sure how talking and still being so close to an ex right after a break up enables anyone to adequately take the proper steps to move on.

What should I do? How do I prepare myself for the possibility that nothing will come of this? Should I continue talking with her knowing that she’s still grieving the loss of her last relationship and/or that the relationship may not be fully over? I am not looking to jump into a relationship with her at the moment. It would be naive of me to think that would happen. But I also do not want to set myself up for complete disappointment if it turns out that her ex is still the one.
