In the states i get more middle aged men interested in me than men in my own age group. And that part of the dating culture here is so. freaking. weird.
They always justify their interest by saying "well i just prefer younger women"
Ok…
Then what is the point in dating you?
Won't i (quickly) become undesirable to you then? If you only find young women attractive then to me it reflects that your values don't have anything to do with companionship and deep connection. At best you're shallow, but at worst it says you prey on naivety. So why announce it? It seems such a strange thing to be proud of. Let alone lead with when youre hitting on someone.
Women who arent bothered by it: can you please explain your perspective? How is it not a red flag to you?
In my head i just about scream "WHAT IS THE POINT in dating you?" When I hear this.
The only justification I've ever heard revolves around fertility and starting a family. I know sex ed is supposedly bad in some countries but fertility window for men and women is NOT that different. Seems like Americans in particular deny this/don't know this. Is this the root of the phenomenon?
