As someone who uses excuses to not focus on dating as much as I probably should, social distancing is a perfect excuse for me to be content with being by myself.
I no longer have to go out to bars with the hope that I'll see a women I want to meet. I no longer have to worry about my friends that take forever to get ready/coordinate plans.
I no longer have to worry about what I would say if I see someone I want to meet, or how to get their number, or how I would ask them back to my place. I don't have to worry about cleaning up my place in the hopes that I do meet someone, to just return home alone every time I do clean. And finally, I don't have to worry about performing well in bed.
At least from the guys perspective, dating takes a ton of work. It's like a job interview where I'm also a tour guide/consultant. I have to literally plan everything. I have to know the best bars and parks, I have to coordinate the transportation. And if I mess up on anything, there is a good chance I won't see them again.
It's just nice to just turn off all that and have an excuse to put off dating for a few more months.
