Has anyone gone from video call dating –> video call hooking up yet?

We’re far enough along into quarantine where I’m genuinely wondering what the status is of everyone who has been going on virtual video calls dates using facetime, Zoom, or Skype.

Has it progressed any further beyond seeing just each other’s faces and hearing each other’s voices to seeing each other’s bodies on cam yet and perhaps releasing some sexual frustration together? Or does it just stay stuck on video calls, or perhaps even worse — hitting a brick wall with things not being able to go any further and putting everything on ice until the two of you can actually meet safely in person?

Why do people match just so they can make you feel uncomfortable for trying to have a conversation?

Does anyone else find that a large chunk of matches on dating apps respond to you in a way where it feels like they’ve already turned their nose up to you before even giving you a chance? It’s almost like you offended them right off the bat by trying to talk to them, and it’s like, “Uhh, what did I even do here? You matched me. That’s supposed to be the sign that you welcomed a conversation. I’m trying to get that conversation going, and you’re giving me nothing to work with…”

When they do respond, it’s as if they’re really trying to make you work for it. They don’t ask you questions back, but rather just answer you with a dead-end statement. They don’t bounce tangents off whatever you said, and if you don’t reply back with something that ends with a “?” mark, they probably won’t reply at all until you do.

It just begs the question: If someone matches you just to make you feel uncomfortable, awkward and like a nuisance for talking to them, then why did you match back at all? It’s a pointless waste of time and energy considering it really does seem like the person on the other side of the screen wants to make you feel like you are disposable, and that apparently makes them feel good about themselves.

(For context I’m a guy, so I experience this with women.)
