Would you date someone who posts nudes or thirst traps online? (on Instagram, Gone Wild subreddits, OnlyFans)?

It happens enough here on reddit that whenever I browse some posters or commenters profiles here on the dating subreddits or in the r4r subreddits, it’s not uncommon to also find posts of them under NSFW subreddits like the Gone Wild subs. In the Gone Wild subreddits, there’s often posts by people who have met their partners because of their posts. It’s an atypical way to meet, but at the same time, it’s almost envious seeing two people met by going the reverse route of seeing each other nude first, and THEN getting to know each other and forming a connection.

On proper dating apps, it’s also pretty common that real, local profiles put their Instagram names somewhere in there, and then you go to their profiles, and it’s filled with thirst traps or even just regular clothed (yet) attractive pictures of them to help bolster their matches. It sounds like a lot more people are using things like Instagram in this way to meet people. In that regard, it’s starting to feel overwhelming how much we are expected to share of ourselves in order to potentially get a date.

Questions:

  • How does everyone here personally feel about this?
  • Has anyone here met someone who they later discovered posted nudes or thirst traps online?
  • Is it just normal to expect that the average single person using online to meet people is also juggling an amateur porn following?
  • Have you or would you consider doing this if it resulted in meeting someone?

How does an uncircumcised guy let a woman know this before it becomes a late-breaking dealbreaker?

Obviously, there is not a spot on dating app profile that asks men to identify whether they are circumcised or not. You also probably aren’t going to say, “Hey, by the way, while we’re talking about what we’re looking for in a partner, I thought you’d like to known I’m not circumcised.” It’s a sensitive subject and also one you don’t want to scare someone off with too early in bringing up.

And so, it comes to this being made known at the point where the connection is broaching intimacy, and sometimes, it takes awhile to get to that point. Some women have strong preferences against uncircumcised men, though, so it’s very aggravating after you’ve established a connection and grown to like each other where a guy’s foreskin status puts an automatic stop to this.

This has happened to me a few times already, be it matches who I’ve talked to for weeks, only for the match to lose interest as soon as we exchanged nudes. It happened again last night when I was on a virtual date, and our call took a turn for the intimate where we showed our bodies. She said, “Oh, wait, you’re uncircumcised?” and I awkwardly said, “Uh, yeah…” She ended the virtual call right there, and unmatched me without saying anything else. Her actions told the whole story.

I felt embarrassed and it’s frustrating because there’s no great way to go about bringing up the subject in terms of whether it’s a dealbreaker or not.
