Am I doing something wrong?

I’ve been online dating for a few months now. I match with a guy, we chat and I usually get ghosted. I’ve heard lots of guys complain that girls don’t talk or give one word responses. I don’t do that. I’ll ask questions about their hobbies or whatever the conversation is about and they sometimes ask something back. I’ll ask something about their lives then – poof! I never hear from them again. Usually it’ll be a day of texting or a few days. What gives?

I’m (21F) and the men are usually 21-30.

A Guy Who Doesn’t Compliment Me and Talks About Other Girls

So I (21F) met someone (23M) on a dating app and we have been texting for over a month. We haven’t met in person yet because of corona. I noticed that he has mentioned other girls when we talk. Like how he danced with a model and about how some of his past matches unmatched him. Stuff like that. He hasn’t said anything about how attractive they are or whatever. He has never complimented me before either. I don’t know if this is an OLD thing or because we haven’t met.

Do guys normally not compliment girls until they meet them? Why would he mention other girls while talking to me, a girl he is currently matched with?
