First: It's already a numbers game whether we like it or not.
Second: Does anyone else find this to be devastating and problematic?
Scenario: I message/like/swipe right on someone I really want to speak to. Then I don't hear back from them. Then I message/like/swipe right on someone I feel less motivated by. Then I don't hear back from them. Then I message/like/swipe right on someone I feel indifferent towards. Then I don't hear back from them.
After all this I just message/like/swipe right on almost anyone.
This isn't fair to them. It's not exactly fair to ourselves either.
Should we be more cautious when treating this as a numbers game? It ends up creating a lot of noise for some women. It floods their inbox. It also positions some of us men in the situation of not being picky enough. I know, I know that some of us would get dramatically fewer dates if we didn't play the numbers game but maybe that's what we have to cope with (this includes me).
