I often read on this subreddit that if you are not having any success with dating apps, you should just delete them. It sounds like a logical solution at its heart.
Being well into my 30s and living in a densely populated yet mostly suburban area, though, I can honestly say it's a rare when I meet any women in my normal daily life who were single. Co-workers, people at the gym, friends of friends, people you encounter going about your daily life, people you meet at local groups… everyone's either got a boyfriend, a fiancée or a husband by now. The only crowd I can usually depend on to be single are the guys at the gym on Friday nights haha
This is why, unfortunately, online dating — with all of its ugly warts of superficiality, disappointments in ghosting and not always getting quality matches — still feels like the most viable option to meet someone, even if its offering aren't much.
Does anyone else ever feel like that's true for their dating app usage as well? My guess is that this isn't the case for those living in really big cities like NYC or Los Angeles, though.
