It seems like my boyfriend will never make eye contact. Every time I talk to him, he looks at something that's behind me or he'll keep looking at what he's doing. Like if we're out at a restaurant, he looks at his food while we're talking or if I say something to him while he's reading a book he keeps looking at the book while talking to me. I've told him it bothers me and asked if he can start making eye contact when we talk, but he tells me it makes him very uncomfortable and it makes him lose his train of thought. I don't know what to do. Even when we have sex he won't look in my eyes because he says it makes him very nervous. I feel like he's being disrespectful when he's not looking in my eyes and like I'm not important to him even though he seems to be listening to what I'm saying. How can I get him to be comfortable with eye contact?
