We had just began a relationship right before Covid began to hit in America. We became very close very quickly. So much so that the first week or two I mentioned I was worried we were moving to fast, but also that it just felt right and natural so I was willing to flow with it. She was the initiator constantly texting me, asking to call or just calling me alot, asking to video chat alot etc. We got in the habit of video chatting every night and falling asleep with it on. With Covid she is avoiding seeing people outside of her house etc. So for the last month we have been treating this like a LDR.. Something I had expressed concern over, but she is pushing that she is doing it for the safety of her family that she lives with, and I respected that. The last few weeks now she has become increasingly distant, taking much longer to respond to texts, not calling or initiating contact as much. I had addressed her about this, and told her I was concerned (addressing insecurities of mine) about the distance, because in my last relationship it was the signs that my ex was cheating on me. She has done an incredible job so for of sincerely talking to me about this and reassuring me that she is into me and me alone and not trying to talk to anyone else at the moment. So I tried to get over it and move forward.. she was being better at the contact, but alot less intimate, and flirty now.. which is also playing on my insecurities now.. and the contact is dimming again.. Basically I feel I had already mentioned this and addressed it too her, not in a pandering way, but just letting her know how I feel.. And I hate still having this feeling, but also feel it has already been addressed once, and would be bad to come at it again.. From what she tells me she is still invested, but truth be told.. I dont think I am anymore.
I might be in the wrong here, but I was drawn in by her showing interest earlier in the relationship.. with her being affectionate with me, more sexual.. investing more into my life as well as letting me into hers.. now I have felt like the only one investing lately or trying.. and that if she is still interested into me that she is on autopilot.. I miss having the person act like they were excited to talk to me and cared.. now it feels like an obligation and it bothers me alot.. is this how a relationship should proggres? am I expecting too much here?
